2008 Achievements

Quick, before I forget:
  • Moved from Brighton to London.
  • Gained an incredible amount of time.
  • Moved again in London from an imperfect living environment to a far more suitable domicile.
  • Rebuilt the studio: bigger, better.
  • Avoided hysteria upon finding some favourite vintage equipment had developed Alzheimers through neglect. I'm sorry, gear!
  • Bought a wonderful new DJ mixer.
  • Recorded several trial new DJ mixes in varying styles.
  • Captured some ambient experiments.
  • Improvised live with a Tenori-on and analogue effects.
  • Acquired another guitar (still gotta restring it, though).
  • Avoided breaking my own heart.
  • Built a software Tenori-on in an afternoon with new bleeding edge web technology.
  • Coded a last.fm and DMN content mash-up on Google's AppEngine.
  • Hacked together some Yahoo! Pipes and PopFly feed visualization widgets.
  • Prototyped an AIR visualization of EchoNest song analysis data.
  • Became more confident in my career.
  • Got headhunted by a couple of large corporations.
  • Took care of business.
  • Dropped some bad habits.
  • Maintained a sustainable level of alcoholism.
  • Kept the insomnia under control.
  • Took a proper holiday.
  • Visited India.
  • Evaded several opportunities to go crazy or have a mental breakdown [citation needed].
  • Conceived of another patentable idea.
  • Improved health.
  • Gained a little bit of weight.
  • Jettisoned lots of clutter.
  • Thought up some new pseudonym and project themes.
  • Bought a large, wide-screen plasma television to replace my faithful small CRT.
  • Evolved to be a little more compassionate [citation needed].
  • Procrastinated.
  • Cooked more.
  • Enslaved a robot to clean my carpets.
